Terms of Service

Last updated: August 1, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of TaxResolve.com and the services offered by TaxResolve, a service of Tax Square (“TaxResolve,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using our site or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.

Our services

TaxResolve provides online tax preparation and IRS notice resolution, performed by credentialed professionals such as Enrolled Agents and CPAs. We may use technology to streamline intake and case handling, but a qualified professional is responsible for the work. Information on this site is general and is not legal, tax, or financial advice for your specific situation.

Engagement and scope

Specific services are governed by a separate engagement agreement and, where applicable, an IRS authorization (Form 2848 or 8821). A free initial case review does not create an engagement or a professional-client relationship until we both agree in writing and any required retainer is paid. The scope of our work is limited to what is described in your engagement.

Your responsibilities

You agree to provide complete, accurate, and timely information and documents. You are responsible for the accuracy of your return and for reviewing it before it is filed. Delays or inaccuracies in the information you provide may affect outcomes, deadlines, and fees.

Authorization to represent you

To communicate with the IRS on your behalf, we require a signed authorization (Form 2848 Power of Attorney or Form 8821). You authorize us to act within the scope of that form and your engagement.

Fees and payment

Our fees are disclosed before work begins. Resolution matters may require a retainer that covers a set amount of work; any additional time is quoted and approved by you before it is performed. Retainers and fees for work already performed are non-refundable except as stated in your engagement. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor.

No guarantee of outcome

We bring professional care and diligence to every case, but we cannot guarantee any particular result with the IRS or any tax authority. Outcomes depend on your facts, the applicable law, and agency decisions that are outside our control.

Confidentiality

We treat your information as confidential and handle it in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Intellectual property

The site, its content, and our branding are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied or used without our permission.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The site and services are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the services is limited to the fees you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Termination

Either party may end an engagement in writing. You remain responsible for fees for work performed up to the date of termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the site or services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
