Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
TaxResolve.com (“TaxResolve,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a service of Tax Square, provides online tax preparation and IRS notice resolution. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Because we prepare tax returns and represent clients before the IRS, we are also bound by federal law governing tax return information, including Internal Revenue Code §7216.
Information we collect
- Identity & contact information — your name, address, phone number, email, and government identifiers such as your Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN).
- Tax & financial information — IRS and state notices, prior returns, income and deduction documents, bank and payment details, and other records you provide so we can prepare a return or resolve a matter.
- Account & usage data — information you enter in our client portal, documents you upload, your e-signatures, and basic technical data (device, browser, IP address) used to operate and secure the site.
How we use your information
We use your information to prepare and file your returns; review and resolve IRS and state notices; represent you before the IRS when you authorize us (Form 2848 or 8821); process payments; communicate with you about your case; and comply with our legal and professional obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your tax return information for any purpose other than the services you request, except as permitted or required by law.
Your tax return information (IRC §7216)
Federal law prohibits a tax return preparer from using or disclosing your tax return information without your consent, except as permitted by law. Where your consent is required — for example, to share your information with a third party at your request — we will obtain that consent from you separately, in writing, before doing so.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to deliver our services:
- Service providers that work on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, such as payment processing, electronic signature, and secure cloud storage.
- Tax authorities (the IRS and state agencies) when we file or correspond on your behalf with your authorization.
- Legal compliance when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
How we protect your information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and a written information security program consistent with IRS and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act requirements — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to address any incident promptly.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as needed to provide services and to meet legal, tax, and professional recordkeeping requirements (generally several years after the tax year involved), after which we securely dispose of it.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal and recordkeeping obligations. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. To make a request, email us at support@taxresolve.com.
Cookies
Our site uses only the cookies necessary to operate and secure it and to understand basic usage. We do not use advertising trackers.
Children
Our services are intended for adults (18 and older) and are not directed to children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date.
